Basics Of Nichiha Siding
The company originally started in Nichiha Japan in the mid 1950s. As they expanded, they started a manufacturing operation in Macon, Georgia in 1998 and have been serving the American market ever since. They produce a variety of products which are all made with their version of fiber cement and all carry the Nichiha name (in much the same way as James Hardie products do). This is one of the manufacturers that prides itself on eco friendly products, which has been one of the main problems with HardiePlank and other fiber cement products.

Nichiha Product Lines
The company manufactures a variety of products which all carry the Nichiha name (see below). The products come with a lifetime warranty that covers the boards rotting or splitting, having termite infestation or fungus, delaminating and damage from weather. They claim that their products are more environmentally friendly, have more authetic textures and cripser edges (heat pressure cutting as opposed to wet cuts which they claim affects the competition’s edges) than the competition.
NichiBoard
The flagship of their products, which is touted by the company as having a deep grain texture and uses a good percentage of recycled material. They are available in 12 foot boards with a 6 inch width.
NichiStaggered
Cedar textured staggered shingle panels that are 4 feet horizontally, 16 inches high and 5/16 inches in thickness.
NichiStraight

NichiShake
These shake panels replicate wood shakes and are avialble in a number of widths. NichiPanel Their vertical siding options siding that can be used by homeowners who want vertical or board and batten siding. They are available in either 10′ or 12′ high panels with a cedar or a smooth texture.
NichiTrim And NichiSoffit
The trim and soffit boards are available as a cedar or a smooth texture in 3/4″ or 1″ thick boards. These pieces are all factory primed.
