CertainTeed CedarBoards have a rather confusing name. Instead of being a cedar shingle, it is an insulated vinyl siding that offers a .44″ thick panel, 5 distinct profiles and 19 colors. The CedarBoards received a 67 out of a possible 100 from Consumer Reports, which is a very low score considering foam backed products should, for the most part, outperform non foam backed vinyl products.

Cedar Impressions Shingles

CertainTeed Cedar Impressions is a vinyl shingle that comes in a number of different shapes, textures and lengths. The Straight Edge Shingle, for instance, is 1″ thick (much thicker than their vinyl and fiber cement options) and is offered in a large number of colors. This Impressions product received a 95 out of a possible 100 – a very impressive score.
