Installation is more labor intensive than with vinyl siding, although less difficult than fiber cement or hardie board. You will therefore have higher installation costs than with vinyl. Repairs for aluminum siding can be more costly than other expterior cladding types. In the event of a damaged or dented panel, you will need to remove that panel as well as the panels above or below it.
Maintenance Costs
Maintenance costs are typically low, generally a bit more than vinyl siding if you have to paint every 15-20 years. This isn’t always the case but it can be necessary if fading or chalking occurs. Aluminum can also dent in a heavy storm with debris or hail. Repairing denting obviously costs money for the material and labor.
