Shake Siding Cost (Materials Only)
Low To Mid Grade: $2.00 – $3.00 psf
$200 to $300 per square is the price range for low to mid grade materials. Lower grades of shakes typically are offered by manufacturers who specialize in entry level and builder grade materials. In addition, they may not come with a finish coat in the case of wood siding, therefore requiring higher labor costs to add that on site.
Mid To High Grade: $3.00 – $4.00 psf
$300 and $400 per square is the price range for mid to high grade materials. Mid grades to high end shakes will typically be offered by premium siding manufacturers and may already have a finish coat.
Shake Siding Prices
Installation Costs: $1.00 – $2.00 psf
Prices on the installation will usually range from $1.00 to $2.00 per sq. ft. This is similar in cost to vinyl siding, certainly under what consumers will pay for engineered wood products and fiber cement siding. Shakes are lightweight, they require a single installer and nail gun.

Low To Mid Grade: $3.00 – $4.50 per sq. ft.
$300 and $450 per square is the total price range for low to mid range projects.
Mid To High Grade: $4.50 – $6.00 per sq. ft.
$450 and $600 per square is the total price range for mid to high end projects.

Low To Mid: $4,500 to $6,750
$4,500 and $6,750 is the total price tag on low to mid grade projects.
Mid To High: $6,750 to $9,000
